In Acts 12, the story of Herod Agrippa exposes one of the deepest cravings of the human heart: our desire for a king.

We want someone powerful enough to give us certainty, security, and the future we desire. But Herod shows us the danger of pride, platform, politics, and human leadership becoming ultimate.

In contrast, Jesus reveals a completely different kind of King—not one who grasps for glory, but one who lays His life down, takes up a cross, and rises again to secure the future only He can give.

We do not need another counterfeit king.

We already have a King.

His name is Jesus.
