We believe that God is the Creator of all that exists, and that He Himself has existed eternally in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Deut 6:4; Matt 28:19; John 16:7-15; Heb 1:2-3
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is coequal with the Father and Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to earth to reign as King.
Matthew 1:22-23, Isaiah 9:6, John 1:1-5; 14:10-30, Hebrews 4:14-15, I Corinthians 15:3-4, Romans 1:3-4, Acts 1:9-11, I Timothy 6:14-15, Titus 2:13
The Holy Spirit is coequal with the Father and the Son of God. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer spiritual gifts when they are saved. As Christians we seek to live under His control daily.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling enables the Christian to live a godly life.
II Corinthians 3:17, John 3:5–8; 14:16-17; 16:7-13, Acts 1:8, 4:31, Romans 8:9, I Corinthians 2:12-14; 3:16, Ephesians 1:13; 5:18; 6:12, Galatians 5:16–18; 5:25, Colossians 2:6–1
We believe that God created us to worship Him and give Him glory.
Gen 1:26-27; Isaiah 43:7, 21; I Cor. 10:31
We believe that sin has kept us from knowing God and worshipping Him, and that the penalty for our sin, apart from the saving work of Christ, is eternal death.
Gen 3:1-24; Rom 3:10-23; 5:12-21; 6:23
We believe that salvation from sin and death is only found in Jesus. Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin, was physically resurrected, and now offers a restored relationship with God to all who believe in Him.
John 3:16; 14:6; Acts 2:22-39; 4:12; Rom 3:21-24
We believe that salvation is a free gift given at God’s initiative, and must be received personally by responding to the Gospel in faith and repentance.
John 5:24; Acts 3:19; Rom 10:9-10; Eph 2:8-9
We believe the Bible is God’s Word. We believe that the Bible is inerrant (without error). We submit to the Word as the ultimate authority in the church, believing that its purpose is to teach us how to have a relationship with God and bring Him glory in our lives.
Psalms 19:7-10; John 20:31; 2 Tim 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21
We believe that Jesus founded the Church and that He is working through His church for His glory and His fame in all the earth. We believe the church is a family, and that every believer should be identified with a local church for the purpose of mutual encouragement, spiritual growth and accountability.
Matt 16:18; 1 Cor 12:12-31; Eph 4:11-16; Heb 10:24-25;1 Peter 2:9
We believe that baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the two ordinances Christ has given His church. We believe in baptism by immersion as an outward sign of a previous inward transformation by God’s grace (i.e., believer’s baptism). We believe that the Lord’s Supper is a symbolic remembrance of the sacrifice of Christ on the cross.
Matt 3:13-17; 26:26-29; 28:18-20; Rom 6:1-4; I Cor 11:23-32
We believe God’s plan for human sexuality is to be expressed only within the context of marriage, that God created man and woman as unique biological persons made for each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. For this reason, we believe that marriage is exclusively the union of one genetic male and one genetic female.
Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5–6; Mark 10:6–9; Romans 1:26–27; 1 Corinthians 6:9
We believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth,
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell.
The third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic (universal) church, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God,
begotten of the Father before all worlds;
God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God;
begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made.
Who, for us men for our salvation, came down from heaven,
and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man;
and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate;
He suffered and was buried;
and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures;
and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father;
and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead;
whose kingdom shall have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life;
who proceeds from the Father and the Son;
who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified;
who spoke by the prophets.
And I believe in one holy catholic (universal) and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins;
and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.
Amen.
